Today marks issue 300 of Arweave Today, yet another significant milestone in this ongoing permaweb project. It's been a fascinating journey for me personally, so on behalf of the Only Arweave team, I’m sharing a few insights from behind the scenes. Meet the Team First some context and background info. While I curate, write, edit, and publish Arweave Today, none of this would be possible without the help of my awesome teammates at Longview Labs. ✦ Jeffrey (@DevJeffHK), a coding beast, has done tremendous work finetuning our backend process and bringing Arweave Today’s content onchain. ✦ Will (@willgraan), a Figma legend, is the thoughtful designer behind Arweave Today's website, custom graphics, and all our other content needs. ✦ Jack (@finnaladev), a fellow writer, is my steady sidekick, always available for technical insights and helping keep our content on schedule. ✦ And finally Greg (@albrittongreg), the gigabrain behind Longview Labs, who launched @onlyarweave, @aoComputerClub, and countless other community initiatives. As for me, if you've been following my DePIN work, you'll know I'm much more into the utility side of crypto than hype or price. I believe that technologies designed with people’s best interests offer the brightest path forward, especially in the age of exponential intelligence. This is why I'm drawn to projects like Arweave that have deep philosophies guiding their missions. Intro to Arweave Arweave had always been on my research radar, but it wasn't until Greg reached out for help on an article that I finally dived down the rabbit hole. Fittingly, my first Only Arweave article, “Arweave for Newbies”, was a look at Arweave’s culture and technology from someone with a genuinely fresh perspective. Article link: Shortly after that draft was finished, I took over the creative reins at Arweave Today. Arweave Hub Website Arweave Today has undergone several creative changes since its inception in April 2024, most notably here on X. But what hasn't changed is our steadfast commitment to providing human-centric insights and impartial commentary on the news that matters. The website version of Arweave Today is a living testament to this. Over time we've created a trustworthy brand voice and kept a consistent format, while gradually increasing the use of embedded rich media. Seriously, if you're only reading Arweave Today on X, then you're missing the full experience. The website version offers a streamlined overview of the daily news and includes additional content like dynamic graphics, direct links to permaweb content, and curated Read of the Day articles. Check it out and bookmark it at Consistently Unique What boggles my mind is how we've consistently come up with unique lead-ins for each issue, 300 times in a row. Whether it's a Thought of the Day, a Did You Know? or a handpicked Quote from a prominent ecosystem member, each and every issue brings something new to the table. For the curious out there, that's 113 Did You Knows, 131 Thought of the Days, and 56 Quotes! Only a project and community with true passion and purpose could inspire such a vast amount of unique insights. Arweave has that by the boatload. The kind of stuff you don’t sell... you just love. Not everything needs a like button. In an industry of shiny objects, I’ve chosen, at every opportunity, to keep building here." - @TateBerenbaum Decentralised Content Every issue of Arweave Today is replicated onchain. As always, Jeffrey was a great help in open sourcing the content, working out our integrations with ArNS, @ardriveapp Turbo, and @strapijs CMS. Over 300 issues, we've experimented with different styles on X, from long posts and full-depth articles, to short and punchy threads. While we strive to maintain a high quality content archive on our website, we recently altered our X strategy to compliment @LamprechtTaylor’s amazing work. Personally, this has given me more wiggle room to feed @ao_devbot’s brain with curated knowledge base entries. I’m also getting back into project deep dives and Arweave Architect threads. Stay tuned on that front. Proof of Work One part of the process that was a lot of fun, but admittedly too time-consuming, was the daily highlight post we ran after each X article. Will helped me out with a customisable Figma template which served as the basis for each issue’s lead graphic. Look closer for my Proof of Work 👇 The Path Ahead With permanent storage and decentralised compute as its foundation, the permaweb has a promising future ahead. So as we reflect on the success of 300 issues, we’re equally excited in knowing that this is just the beginning of an even greater journey for the ecosystem and more content creators. In the age of AI slop and low quality content, we continue to put genuine thought and effort into every aspect of Arweave Today.
