A participant in a $263 million cryptocurrency scheme has been sentenced in the US. 22-year-old Evan Tangeman received a 70-month prison sentence for participating in the laundering of stolen cryptocurrency. According to investigators, he helped launder at least $3.5 million through fiat currency, real estate, and luxury goods. In total, the group stole more than $263 million. It included hackers, social engineering operators, and participants involved in the theft of hardware wallets. The money was spent on Lamborghinis and Rolls-Royces, watches worth up to $500,000, villas in Los Angeles and Miami for $40,000-$80,000 per month, and parties worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
