Outcomes is an event contract trading product launched by OKX, set to officially launch on May 28, 2026, built on a CeDeFi architecture, allowing users to predict and trade on the outcomes of real-world events.

Note: this Campaign is a free points-based activity offered by OKX. No real funds are required or involved. Points may be redeemed only at the end of the Campaign for platform rewards at OKX's sole discretion, which may include trading benefits or crypto rewards subject to the applicable terms and availability. The points hold no cash value and can‘t be withdrawn directly from the platform, whether as cash or otherwise. Participation doesn't constitute investment or gambling, and OKX doesn't provide any financial advice. Availability may vary by jurisdiction.

Frequently asked questions:

Product Basics

What is Outcomes?

Outcomes is an event contract trading product that allows you to trade on the outcomes of real-world events. You purchase shares in a particular outcome (Yes or No) — if your prediction is correct, each share settles at 1 PTS (Points); if incorrect, you incur a loss. All trades are matched between users; the platform holds no positions.

What are Events and Markets?

An Event represents a specific topic and may contain one or more Markets. A Market is the smallest tradable unit, corresponding to a specific question within an Event, producing Yes and No shares. For example, "2026 World Cup Champion" is an Event, which contains multiple Markets such as "Brazil wins," "Argentina wins," "France wins," etc.

What do Yes and No mean?

Yes means you believe the event will occur; No means you believe it will not. In a single-market event, Yes + No price = 1.00 PTS.

What event types does Outcomes support?

Binary Event: an event contains only one market — for example, "Will Germany advance from the group stage in the 2026 World Cup?" The answer is either Yes or No.

Mutually Exclusive Event: an event contains one or more markets, but only one outcome can win (i.e., the sum of all markets' Yes prices = 1). For example, "Which country will win the 2026 World Cup?" contains multiple countries and corresponding markets; only one can be Yes.

What does the share price represent?

For ease of understanding, we use "cent" as the price unit, where 1 PTS = 100 cents. The price directly reflects the probability that market participants assign to a given outcome. 70 cents implies the market judges approximately a 70% likelihood of occurrence. To provide greater price flexibility at the extremes, when the unit price is below 4 or above 96 cents, precision supports up to 0.1 (e.g., an order at 96.5 cents is supported); between 4 and 96 cents (inclusive), precision is limited to whole numbers (e.g., only an order at 95 cents is supported).

What event categories does Outcomes support?

Currently, coverage focuses on World Cup-related events. The platform will continue to list high-interest, high-demand events.

Trading Mode

What are free points? How do I obtain them?

Free points are granted by OKX to users for a risk-free trading experience on Outcomes. Points can be obtained through the following channels: initial airdrop after registration, daily check-in, completing prediction milestone tasks, inviting friends, etc. Specific point acquisition rules are subject to the campaign page. Points can't be purchased or transferred.

What is the purpose of points?

Points can't be directly redeemed. After the campaign concludes, the system distributes the total rewards based on your point ranking or point share proportion, with rewards distributed in trading benefits or crypto rewards (subject to the applicable terms and availability) to your OKX account.

Account & Funds

What funding sources are supported for trading on Outcomes?

Free points granted by OKX through campaigns.

Why is part of my balance unavailable?

When you have unfilled pending orders, the corresponding funds are locked (buy orders lock points; sell orders lock shares). Locked funds can't be transferred, withdrawn, or used by other orders. Funds are automatically released to your available balance upon order cancellation or expiration.

Can points in Outcomes be used with other OKX products?

No. Points are exclusively for use within Outcomes.

Trading Operations

What order types are supported?

Market order: executes immediately at the best available price, with a built-in price protection mechanism (worst execution price). Supports three modes: buy by amount, buy by share quantity, and sell by share quantity.

Limit order: specify a price and share quantity. If the price can be immediately matched, it executes as a Taker. If only partially matched, the filled portion executes as a Taker and the unfilled portion enters the order book as a Maker. If no immediate match is available, the entire order enters the order book. Order validity is managed by GTC (Good Till Cancelled)(remains active until filled or manually canceled) or GTD (Good Till Date) (automatically canceled upon expiration) strategy.

What order strategies are available?

Market orders default to the FAK (Fill and Kill) strategy: fill as much as possible, and immediately cancel the unfilled portion. You can switch to FOK (Fill or Kill) in Settings > Order Strategy: the entire order must be filled or it is fully canceled — partial fills aren't accepted.

Limit orders default to the GTC (Good Till Cancelled) strategy: the order remains active until filled or manually canceled. When placing an order, you can set it to GTD (Good Till Date): specify an expiration time, after which the unfilled portion is automatically canceled.

What is the minimum order amount?

Limit order: price × shares ≥ 1 PTS. Market buy ≥ 1 PTS. Market sell ≥ 1 PTS (no minimum for market close-out orders).

What is a mirror order?

Within the same market, Yes and No are complementary assets (1 Yes share + 1 No share = 1 PTS). Therefore, "buying Yes at 0.60" is equivalent to "selling No at 0.40," and "selling Yes at 0.60" is equivalent to "buying No at 0.40." The system automatically generates mirror orders to facilitate trade matching.

Can I sell before an event concludes?

Yes. Before the event enters settlement status, you can place sell orders on the order book at any time to lock in profits or cut losses. For partially filled orders, the unfilled portion can also be canceled at any time.

When does trading stop for an event?

Once the markets under an event complete settlement, you can no longer place or cancel orders. Please complete trading operations before the market settlement result is confirmed.

How are fees charged?

No fees are charged for trading on Outcomes using points.

Does Outcomes support API trading?

Yes. Outcomes provides a full OpenAPI for market makers and advanced users, supporting batch order placement and other operations.

Settlement

When will my returns be credited after settlement?

Upon settlement completion, profits and losses are settled in point form to your Outcomes balance, and positions are closed simultaneously. Sports events are typically settled within 3–4 hours after the match concludes; non-sports events are usually settled within 48 hours of the event occurring or expiring. Once settlement is complete, winners redeem points based on their position size.

What happens if an event is canceled?

If an event is canceled or invalidated due to special circumstances, events are settled at 50/50. Specific handling is subject to platform announcements.

Risk & Security

What is the maximum I can lose?

Your maximum loss equals the amount of points used when purchasing shares. Each contract's value ranges between 0 and 1; there is no margin call or forced liquidation.

Other

Which regions don't support Outcomes?

Due to regulatory requirements, Outcomes is unavailable in certain countries and regions, including but not limited to: the United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan, Canada, Hong Kong, Iceland, and the U.S. states of Florida and Rhode Island. Please refer to platform announcements for the full restricted list. If you are in an unsupported region, you will be unable to see the Outcomes entry point or conduct trades.

Why can't I see the Outcomes entry point?

Possible reasons include:

  • Your region doesn't support Outcomes

  • Your OKX App version is outdated — please update to the latest version. Important note: if you have created a Web3 wallet, back up your wallet first. Learn more here about how to back your seed phrase or private key.

  • Outcomes hasn't yet been enabled for your account. If the issue persists after troubleshooting, please contact Customer Support.

What platforms does Outcomes support?

Currently, only the OKX App is supported.

What is the difference between Outcomes and OKX CEX Event Contracts?

Both are prediction market products, but they differ in underlying architecture. CEX Event Contracts use a purely centralized architecture, primarily covering cryptocurrency price categories, with settlement based on OKX index price averages. Outcomes is a free-to-play campaign mechanism that uses an off-chain matching + on-chain settlement architecture, covering categories including sports, politics, finance, and culture. Settlement is completed through decentralized oracles (UMA) or third-party data providers, with support for additional order strategies (FAK/FOK/GTC/GTD) and an independent OpenAPI.

Notes:

  • Outcomes trading is speculative in nature. Your maximum loss of points doesn't exceed the amount of points used when purchasing shares; there is no margin call or forced liquidation. Please note the following risks:

  • Market prices are determined by trader supply and demand and don't represent the actual probability of an event occurring. Prices may fluctuate sharply due to insufficient liquidity.

  • Network or system failures may affect your ability to place orders, cancel orders, or view market data. The platform assumes no liability for trading losses caused by system failures.

  • Outcomes prices don't constitute investment advice. The platform holds no positions and doesn't participate in trading in any direction.

  • In the event of any discrepancy or ambiguity between different language versions of event rules, settlement conditions, and related descriptions, the English version shall prevail. Users are advised to review the English-language event rules before trading.

  • When special circumstances arise that are not foreseen by the event rules (including but not limited to: data source unavailability, ambiguous event definitions, indeterminable settlement conditions, force majeure, etc.), OKX reserves the right of final interpretation and determination over the event settlement method. The platform will render its determination based on the original intent of the event rules, data source availability, and market fairness, and will notify users via platform announcements.
